Rangers misconstrue disputing couple as robbers; shoot down male spouse



KARACHI: A verbal dispute in public between married couples turned fatal when Rangers personnel allegedly misconstrued it as robbery bid and opened fire on them, thus killing a male spouse, ARY News reported on Friday.
The man was identified as Zeeshan Uddin.
The incident occurred near Nagan Chowrangi (roundabout) where a couple was wildly exchanging hot words, when Rangers personnel opened fire on them, considering it as a dacoity attempt. The firing claimed live of a male spouse, sparking protest in the neighbourhood.                                       
The wife of a man was also injured in the wake of firing.  Local residents run amok after the incident and shouted slogans against the law enforcers. Nagan Chowrangi road was also blocked for traffic due to the firing. Rangers’ personnel resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters.
